Free Articulate Skin – Reflection
One of the exciting skinning ideas that came to me during the Second European Articulate User Conference was the concept of a simple skin for Presentation Zen type slide shows where each slide displays an evocative image overlayed with short a concise statement. Such as skin would need to avoid detracting from the presentation itself, so it should be small, simple and unobtrusive. I also thought it would be interesting to explore the potential for incorporating a reflection of each slide as part of the skin to add to the overall affect.
After some trial and error efforts I am now excited to present the Webducate Reflection skin and make this available FREE as an artpkg file for others to use.

NB - The slide reflection only displays if there is something on the powerpoint slide to reflect… so if you have a blank white slide with text you need to draw a white rectangle covering the whole slide to act as a background. This will then appear as a reflection for this slide.

Some people have had trouble with using this downloaded artpkg file. The symptoms are that the skin doesn’t appear on the published presentation so you can still see the presenter player and there is no relfection. If you are affected in this way please contact me and I’ll email you a copy of the artpkg file which shouldn’t be affected.

Great skin – is there any way to get the keyboard shortcuts to work? I enabled them in the player controls however they do not seem to be recognised by this skin . . .
Glad you like it! This skin has the keyboard shortcuts turned off. Get in touch if you want me to supply you with a version of the skin that has these enabled.
Hi Tony, thanks for the chance to use your Zen Reflection skin in some of the handouts in one of our coiurses (were experimenting with non-AP Looks and Feels)…
One question though: does the player support audio?
Were getting some amazing reverb on narrated audio ( http://kaplanschoolofbusiness.com/video/MT220/Sim_1c/player.html ). When I play single flash files in the flash folder, they sound fine, but as soon as they’re played collectively via the player, the reverb kicks in. Sometimes the first slide will play fine, but then the second slide starst in…
Sorry to bother you on this, esp on a freebie, but we’d hate to abandon the skin if that isn’t the source of the problem…

Hi Michael
I’m afraid this skin isn’t compatible with audio as it stands. The reverb is due to the skin loading a copy of the slide swf which includes the audio. I’m going to look into this and see if it can be fixed.
