Articulate custom skins – bespoke development and development training

Articulate logoWebducate is pleased announce the availability of Articulate Presenter custom skin training and bespoke development services.  Articulate Presenter custom skins allow e-learning resources created with the popular Articulate authoring system to be delivered within a customised player.  This player can be designed to include branding and functionality not available within the default Articulate player helping to meet a target audiences’ specific needs and providing a unique learning experience.

Webducate offers two distinct services relating to the creation of Articulate presenter custom skins:

  1. Training - If you are an experienced Flash developer and want to get started creating your own skins, Webdcuate offers intensive hands on training with related Flash source files provided to get you up and running as fast as possible.
  2. Bespoke development - If you would like to use a custom skin but lack the time and/or skills required then Webducate can develop a skin to meet your needs.

Mediawiki and Elgg

One of Webducate’s  recent projects has been to develop corporate branding to apply to two open source Web2.0 systems, Mediawiki and Elgg. This has proved to be both challenging and also extremely interesting getting to grips with the style sheets and also the mechanisms that these PHP based systems use.

Blogging for teaching and learning

The final installment of the trilogy on Web 2.0 technologies for teaching looks at blogging and the Elgg system used at the University of Leeds. Once again this site introduces the technology, gives examples of learning and teaching applications, identifies some case studies and offers tips and strategies for your own use.

Wikis for teaching and learning

The second installment of the Web 2.0 technologies for teaching and learning support sites is now live. This site focuses on wikis and use of the Mediawiki system. Coverage includes:

Podcasting for T&L website

Webducate has been contracted to develop support websites on the use Web 2.0 technologies, Wikis, podcasting and blogging in teaching and learning for the University of Leeds. These sites will give an introduction to the technologies, explore the pedagogical applications and issues, provide case studies and how-to guides.

Podcasting to support teaching and learning is area generating a great deal  of interest currently.  I recently delivered a staff training workshop giving an introduction to podcasting and I don’t think I have ever had to face such a lively audience with so many tricky questions and also genuine enthusiasm.  I’m sure we are going to see some interesting things happening…

Physiospot blog launched

Now for something completely different…

Physiospot a Webducate sister company focused on Physiotherapy related e-learning development and continued professional development support has launched its muscloskeletal research review blog. This identifies the latest published research articles that are relevant to muscloskeletal physiotherapy practitioners and provides direct links to the journals, abstracts and full-text papers.

This is set to become a valuable resource for this community and makes the beginning of Webducates work to develop e-learning resources to support Physiotherapists and other medical disciplines.
